Summer's Folly

How is it that a day at the ocean means so much more than simply a 'day at the beach?' It becomes something spiritual, rejuvenating, transcending. The briny air in my parched lungs, the healing saline that washes over my stalled creativity, the pull of the tide under my feet when I'm standing at the shoreline.

Maybe it's just the frigid temperature of the Maine water and I'm suffering from hypothermia and nothing more. As for me, I'm going to keep with the belief that the sea is the cure for all that ails me. Already I'm more inspired and my muse has come for tea once more...
